In 1963 my family moved to Cleveland, moving Hartford in East Cleveland in 1964. The city was changing when we first move to EC there where many white families but few black families. White flight was taking place.   As blacks moved in whites moved out, but not all whites moved so the balance of white to black did not come a head until the late seventies. Early eighties when the population changes completely. When I left Shaw we still had whites in our class. Some whom families still stay here.

The city is changing again in many ways The EC that I knew as a kid is dead many of the past residents had moved out. And many of those who worked for the city that remember how things where done are gone. Many have been picked up by other cities; I have into several different city halls to find an old long time EC resident working. And these residents are continuing to move and divest in EC.

A RTA historical plague got me to thinking of the families that made up EC in the post Rockefeller years. Now I can’t name them all and some I will leave out because I just don’t know so those that I have left out Please add your name.

These are the families around me in which I had contact with there are many more long- time residents so l will try to remember as many as I can.

Now I lived on Taylor and here are just some of the names;
